Spatial and Temporal Dynamics

Understanding changes in ecosystem responses over time to environmental stressors in a diverse set of ecosystems improves our ability to predict the effects of environmental stressors into the future across broad spatial scales.

Examples of current projects include:

  • Understanding the role of climate change, large-scale climate drivers, and local weather on lake ice dynamics
  • Understanding changes in water quality in the Qu’Appelle valley
  • Changes in lake water temperatures over the past 25 years around the world: Comparing in situ vs. satellite acquired data
